For many women, routine healthcare screenings can be delayed because of busy schedules, financial concerns, or uncertainty about available resources. The Scare Away Breast Cancer Screening program in Casper aims to help address those challenges by creating an opportunity for women to access important breast health services in a more convenient and supportive setting.

The specialized clinical outreach program is designed to make breast cancer screening more accessible for members of the community, particularly those who may face barriers to receiving routine care. By bringing screening services and financial assistance resources together, the program encourages women to take an important step toward early detection and preventive healthcare.

The outreach will offer walk-in screenings from 8 a.m. to noon, allowing women to receive services without needing to schedule an appointment in advance. While walk-in screenings will take place during the morning hours, the full diagnostic imaging team will remain active on-site until 3 p.m. MDT to continue processing patients and providing care throughout the afternoon.

In addition to screening services, the program will provide information and assistance for women who may need help covering the cost of care. Social work staff will be available at the registration desks to provide immediate applications for the Wyoming Cancer Program, a state-funded grant that covers the full cost of screening mammograms for eligible low-income, uninsured, or underinsured residents.

Having financial assistance resources available during the clinic allows patients to better understand their options and access support that may otherwise be difficult to find. The program focuses not only on providing screenings but also on helping remove some of the obstacles that can prevent people from seeking preventive care. READ MORE
